Young Living Essential Oils

Young Living Essential Oils

Seed to Seal

What are Essential Oils?

Essential oils are a volatile substance and natural compounds found in shrubs, flowers, trees, bushes, etc. derived from plants, containing the natural smell and characteristics of that plant.

Volatile – means it evaporates quickly into the air

Essential oils are primarily extracted through steam distillation, but can also be cold pressed.

Steam distillation is the most common essential oil extraction method, it’s critical to control the temperature  and the pressure to avoid “burning” the oils and maximize the yield.  Young Living has fully automated steam distillers.  The plant material is then composted to generate fertilizer.
